Time for the scariness

It’s October now and Mom says it’s time to start all the scariness. She and Daddy have even bought a huuuuge gourd! It’s in the kitchen right now, taunting me as I speak (dictate). I just know it’s going to start making faces at me soon. 🙁

It’s Fall now and all our trees have been dying their leaves. The weather’s been kind of wonky – first it’s kind of chilly and then it gets all warm and soggy again. But the trees haven’t even slowed down their changing ways.

Watching the Seasons Change

My field has been changing, too. The monster came and ate it up, like it does every year, then spit up some hayballs, just like it does every year. Now, the grass is all way short and it’s easier to explore, which I do every chance I get.

And since the leaves have started to fall off, of course Mom has to take my picture sitting in them. I don’t get it, but it makes her happy.

This again? *sigh*

Zoe’s doing all right. Mostly just sleeping.

Go 'way. You bother me.

But here’s an interesting picture. Sometimes she sits real funny and lines her feet up. You can see her pink belly. Ha!

(No title)

Mom’s been missing Hissy Kitty a lot lately so here’s one of the few pictures that has both of us. She normally didn’t like to be too close to me.

And here’s Zoe with one of her mousy toys. She doesn’t like to share.

Blast from the Past

Today, we will be featuring pictures from the far past…or at least three years.

First, we have the first picture Mom ever took of Zoe. I think it’s fitting that the picture is fuzzy and Zoe just isn’t cooperating. That should have been their first clue, don’t you think?

Zoe's First Picture

Hey, is that a camera? I LOVE cameras!

For my historical portrait, I chose to feature my friend Rasta Man with his first hairdo. In case you’re new to the blog, everytime he got  a little worn out and frayed, Mom would take him out to the spa and he would come back all clean, with no holes and a whole new hairdo! He liked gray, dark gray and even darker gray! (Mom says it was really red, blue and purple – whatever those things are.)

I don’t play with Rasta Man much anymore – we’re both too old for that stuff – but he’s still around and still sporting the same do.

It’s September!

It’s September 1st and Mom has made a resolution that she’s not sure she can keep.

Even though we don’t blog as much as we used to, Mom wants to keep the Cabinet alive so every day she will help us at least post a picture. That’s worth at least 2000 words, right? (There will be two – Zoe doesn’t want to be left out.)

So, here’s today’s pictures.

Hey, this is my blog, too!

So, I see that China blogged about what she did this summer but come on guys, who really cares what a dog does all day long? Now, a cat? Everyone wants to know!

Cutness...but also Evilness

Cutness...but also Evilness

Of course, I am always cute, but this is me actually trying. I mean, look at that! This is how I keep a roof over my head. Sure, it’s easy for a cat to do the cute thing but that’s what makes being a cat so splendiforous! We don’t have to try very hard to earn a living. And if we get bored, we can just bite and run away.

Well, that’s what I do…

Zoe at the window

Zoe at the window

Mostly, I hung out on windowsills all summer. This year, the lady has kept the bird feeders full so there’s always birdies to watch. But even better, this year she put in a bird bath on one side of the house and a hummingbird feeder on the other so now I can watch birdies on THREE SIDES OF THE HOUSE!!! As you all know, this is my favorite show and now it’s on all the time.

Attention Monger

Attention Monger

Sometimes being cute isn’t enough. You see, I like attention. But I don’t like people to touch me. So I do my best to keep my people’s attention on me but at the same time keeping my distance. As you can see here, this is the perfect thing for me. While the lady is outside I like to jump in the windows and make sure she looks at me me me! Who cares about those silly flowers, I’m way more beautiful and deserving of attention. Me!

Zoe relaxes

But, like the dog, I prefer to spend most of my time relaxing. That’s the whole reason to be a cat – relaxing. The lady thinks this blanket is hers, but I use it way more than she does. So, it’s mine.

What I did on my Summer Vacation

The warm times are almost over. The trees are dying their hair again (they started early this year!) and the air is getting cooler. It was a nice Summer except for those few weeks when it was really hot. Still, it’s better than the hot place.

What do you want?

What do you want?

As usual, I lounged around inside on the couch, watching movies with my humans. Well, they watched. I just snoozed.

Catching a few Zzzzzs

Catching a few Zzzzzs

But I preferred to do my sleeping outside when it wasn’t too hot.

'Standing' Guard

'Standing' Guard

I’m pretty sure that the Hottentots are no longer a threat, so I’ve set my sights on those pesky squirrels. I’ve seen way too many of them this summer. They better watch out because I’m watching out for them.

Sitting with the remains of my field

Sitting with the remains of my field

As usual, the big, noisy, hungry monster came and ate up my field. This is me, sitting with what’s left. These will be gone soon because it’s not only the tractor-monster that’s hungry for my field – the big trucks like it too and like to eat these big rolls.

I don’t have the heart to tell them that they’re probably a little, ahem, poo-flavored. Hee.
